Today has been one of those days where you should have stayed in bed, but couldn't because you had too many other obligations. The more I think about it, though, the more I realize that every once in a while it is probably okay to take a day (or a morning) off. I guess today is not that day. Anyway, it's been really hard to think of things to be thankful for. But in trying I realize that is exactly what we should do on days like these. There are always a million little things that go right when there are a couple big things that aren't going your way.
*Thankful that I finally had time to paint my toenails last weekend. It had seriously been like 3 or 4 months.
*Thankful that this pregnancy has been super smooth so far. I am so lucky.
*Thankful that Sean is working so hard in school. I know I say that every week but I still have nightmares about my last few semesters and how hard it was to stay focused, and he is doing an outstanding job :)
*Thankful that my brother got to come down and hang out last night. Blaze is too!
*Thankful for the knowledge that "This too shall pass" and I won't have to deal with the drama crap at work forever.
*Thankful for the good nights of sleep I've gotten the last couple weeks. Last night doesn't count. But before that it was great and needed.
*Thankful that even though it isn't coming for another 50 minutes and I'm starving already, we are getting free lunch today at work.
*Thankful for my upstairs neighbor and our "girl talks" that we have a couple times a week. Sometimes we pass 45 minutes chatting without realizing it. It's nice to have someone close to have girl time with, even if it is just for a few minutes.

One year anniversary!
I can't believe it has been a year since Sean and I got married! It's been so much fun and I can't wait for what comes next :) For our anniversary, we decided to keep it simple (mid semester and pregnancy don't bode for being able to do a multiple night vacation). I found a sweet deal on KSL for a night stay at the Zermatt in Midway. Neither of us had been there before so off we went!
After church. Thank goodness for timers on cameras.
Sean in front of the Zermatt.
Know the best part about the Zermatt? FREE valet parking. That's right: Free!
Standing in the gazebo. This was the view from our window, so we went exploring. In the cold.
Pretty architecture
Water fountain feature in the lobby.
Me in front of the fireplace. They serve free cider/hot chocolate as well.
The next morning before breakfast
Yum! Expensive but hey, it was our anniversary. Splurge a little, right?
After breakfast when we went to pick up our stuff and check out. I just love him!
Taken from our window before we left.
Until next time Zermatt! Can't beat the free valet parking...
Oh and guys, Deer Creek is frozen. Crazy.
P.S. Yes, I cropped my belly out of most of those pictures. Sue me...

Friday Funnies 2/22
Happy Friday!
Will someone please find this onesie for my baby? I am seriously in love.
Love me some Jack Sparrow!
Also that is one of my favorite lines from The Avengers "We have a hulk." Can't wait for Iron Man 3!
Did anyone actually fall for this? I laughed out loud...
All I can say is "Bahahahaha!"
Loved this :)

Thankful Thursday 2/21/13
*Thankful for Sean's parents for feeding us a couple times a week. Helps this girl out tons!
*Thankful for my family, and Sean's family, and the support system that entails. It is super strong.
*Thankful for my little guy, I'm starting to feel him more and more and it is so cool! Hope it stays that way and doesn't get too uncomfortable...
*Thankful for Sean and his willingness to do what I want to do haha. Poor guy, he needs some guy time because all I want to do is stay home.
*Thankful for days off, having Monday off this week was great.
*Thankful that I am HALFWAY through this pregnancy! In the words of Bon Jovi, I'm livin' on a prayer...

Basketball Jones
One of the hardest things about being pregnant is the fact that I can't run around and play crazy sports like I used to. I miss basketball. I miss soccer. I miss ultimate frisbee even. I miss swimming. I miss going for a 2 mile run and thinking I'm awesome because I didn't have to stop (that's an accomplishment folks!). For now though, I guess I'll just have to go shoot hoops with the girls I teach in Primary. That way I get to shoot some a basketball, but I also get a freakin' good laugh too.
These girls seriously melt my heart. The two in the middle were two of the girls that offered to help me with basically everything once they found out I was pregnant. Since I had the day off yesterday, I obliged ;) We went to the church and shot hoops for about 45 minutes and then they said, "Okay now can we go to your house and clean?" How do you say no to that?! They did my dishes that didn't fit in the dishwasher, swept the kitchen floor, took out the recyclable stuff, and dusted in the living room. We turned on some Adele and rocked it cleaning for about half an hour. We were so goofy! I love that they don't treat my like a full on adult, they let me be a kid with them too. Because let's be honest. Being a kid is the best part of life!

Thankful Thursday - a day late
Yesterday was kind of a crazy day, I'm not surprised I missed this haha
*Thankful that baby BOY Parker is healthy and strong, and is lookin' good wiggling around in there.
*Thankful for the overwhelming support from my family, Sean's family and all our friends that we've received. We are so excited!
*Thankful for our anniversary coming up on Sunday and the fun we have planned!
*Thankful for my mom's delicious sugar cookie recipe and that mine (almost) taste as good as hers.
*Thankful that I actually feel like I slept last night. First time since last weekend I think.
I'll post a Friday Funny because I actually have some, and a preggo update with a picture later today!

A Movie Filled Weekend
Sean and I don't see movies very often. I think since we have been married, we have seen Brave, The Avengers, and the Hobbit. In theaters, that is. We watch movies at home more frequently than that. (And more so frequently since I got pregnant, but that's just because I'm getting fat and lazy, just like the servants in Beauty and the Beast.) This last weekend though, we not only saw one movie, but TWO! I still am in shock...
Here Comes the Boom is hilarious! It is clean, full of fun, witty humor, and has a really good message about fighting for something and not giving up, even when it seems impossible. Also, it made me want to be an MMA fighter. You get paid to lose? Okay sign me up...
Wreck-It Wralph: my brother-in-law and his wife loved it. It was in the dollar theater (more like $2 theater...geez) so we decided to go. We invited Sean's parents along as well. We all loved it! Sean's Mom is diabetic, and after the whole Sugar-Land thing, she said "I think my blood sugar is too high now that I've watched it!" She was kidding of course but it was hilarious. And, it also has a good message. Haven't quite nailed it down yet, but something along the lines of keep promises you make, or you don't know the whole story, or be proud of who you are. Yeah, it needs some work.
Anyway, I highly recommend both movies, and so does Sean. Also, if anyone wants to go see Here Comes the Boom while it is still in the $2 theater, Sean and I will gladly go too!

"Because it was his 'duty'!"

Thankful Thursday
*ONE MORE WEEK until we find out if we are team pink or blue! I am starting to get really antsy about it. Especially when everyone keeps asking me arghhh. Anyway...
*Thankful that Sean let me wake him up the other night when I had a crazy bad dream that I couldn't shake. Neither of us slept for a couple hours, but he stayed up with me. Love that man o' mine :)
*Thankful for warm(er) weather. Today when I drove home on my lunch break I actually cracked my windows to let some cool air in.
*Thankful for the countertop dishwasher that is ON IT'S WAY to our house! No more washing forks by hand for this preggo. How I went a year without any sort of dishwasher is beyond me.
*On that note, thankful for modern technology so I don't spend all day doing dishes and washing clothes by hand. I have warm showers every morning, a very warm apartment, and all that other wonderful stuff that makes life so convenient.
Did I mention only 7 more days until we find out the gender?!?! Dear time, go faster!

Date Night
Last Friday, Sean and I decided to do something outside our house (hard for us in the winter when it is so cold). We went to the BYU men's volleyball game. Now I have never been disappointed with one of those games. They are fun and loud and BYU dominates!
But not on Friday! Seriously? What the heck BYU men's volleyball... At least we had fun and got out of the house. It sucks being cooped up inside all winter.
Here are some pictures from the date:
Maybe next time Cougars... meaning, better win next time Cougars.

Gym it up
Ever since I moved to Orem a year ago, I've had a hard time getting to the gym. In the summer, it's easy to work out: I could run around our fun neighborhood, or go on long bike rides up Provo Canyon. It only took Sean and I an hour or so to get to Vivian Park from our house, marvelous! Not to mention we did insanity from home for two months. But then winter, and my pregnancy, hit. Can't run, hurts my chest. Can't bike, too much snow. Drive to the gym? 20 minutes away? Umm yeah right. I think I've averaged about 2 days a week since I got pregnant, and 4 before that. When I used to work out 5-6 days a week, and pretty intensely, I have been feeling awful about my workout habits.
FINALLY, though, my 24 Hour Fitness membership expired. Let me tell you, driving to 24 and passing 2 Gold's gyms and a Planet Fitness on the way pretty much was awful. So I went to Gold's on Friday and signed up with them again. The guy was super nice, signed me up on the VIP membership for the basic price, gave me an extra 2 free months, and also gave me a free freeze (which will come in handy in a few months when I'm bigger than a whale, oh and after that whole labor thing..), all because my birthday is the same as his wife! Okay so that's probably not why, they probably just are dying to get new memberships.
So I went this morning, and I cannot even tell you how much I missed the cardio cinema room! The one at the 8th North Orem gym is a lot smaller than the one at the 9th East Provo one, but still. My 20 minutes on the elliptical (cause seriously, I don't think preggo me could have handled any longer) went very fast with whatever Jackie Chan movie was playing today. And that, to me, is worth the $300 I spent (in total) on Friday.
Did I mention it is only a 2 minute drive to Gold's from my house?
Almost as good as the 2 minute walk when I lived at the Treehouse.

Friday Funnies
If this were Blaze at the vet, I would die.
Actually, I almost do die each time.
My arms are about ripped out of their sockets each trip we take, he is so excited.
