4th of July, 2013

Our 4th this year was pretty low key. We got up and went to Alex's for breakfast. There was a friend of his grandma's there who told me with her first pregnancy she got HUGE (keep in mind this was like 60 years ago) and the doctor's told her she was going to have one huge baby. Then they surprised her when she was delivering and said Oh it's twins! Have I mentioned how grateful I am there is only one baby in me, and also how grateful I am for ultrasounds?

After breakfast we watched the parade, then headed to Sean's parents for lunch. After that, we helped Jenny out with her car battery, and then headed home for a nap. After a nap, we went back to Sean's parents for dinner, and then went home and went to bed. Didn't watch any fireworks shows (except for the few I could see from my backyard when I took Blaze out before bed).

All in all, it was lazy but perfect. Especially being almost 9 months pregnant. Nothing is fun...

Thankful Thursday/Friday

Yesterday was a holiday and I didn't look a computer screen once. It was a beautiful thing :) So here is my gratitude list for the week:

-Thankful that even though I don't know the day, this pregnancy is almost over! This little guy is wearing out his welcome in my belly. It's time to give Daddy some time alone... Doctor did say that I'm making progress, albeit slower than I want. He won't induce until conditions are favorable. So hopefully all the moving around I plan on doing this weekend does the trick! My upstairs neighbor's garden has some weeds that I am going to tackle for them. Plus the grocery shopping and the cleaning that needs to be done. All while Sean is taking a chemistry test.

-Thankful that Sean's hard work paid off and he got an A in his English class! Also grateful that his chemistry class is going well so far.

-Thankful that I was able to get everything on my car taken care of this week. Car wash inside and out, new tires, an alignment, oil change, safety and emissions, and registration. It's all done and I don't have to worry about anything for a long time!

-I guess I should be thankful that my blood pressure isn't super high all the time. Although that would make them induce me sooner...

-Thankful for my family, friends, and this amazing country we live in. There is a lot of crap going on, but it is still America and I am still proud to be a member of this nation. I no longer can make it through the Star Spangled Banner without breaking down into tears. Although that might be the pregnancy hormones...

-Thankful for my brother and the wonderful example he is setting being on a mission right now. I think he is one of the first 18 year olds in his mission, and all the young men in the ward he is serving in ask him about serving all the time. Apparently they have been skeptical about going that young and he told them just to do it and now they are all getting pumped!

-Thankful that I get to see my Dad, Mom, Carly and Bryce, and all my other family that are coming for family reunion! (Jenny, I see you a lot, but I am still excited to hang out with you too don't worry!) Also, thankful for Jenny for making my nails pretty yesterday during the parade :)

Update: life lately

We are so boring lately. We sleep, get ready for the baby, Sean does homework, and I work, and that is about it. We rarely do anything not related to those things haha. What do you expect? I'm almost 9 months pregnant. Here's a few things we've been up to lately:

Probably one of the best jokes I have ever played on someone, and it wasn't even on purpose!

Blaze trying to be sneaky and lick my ice cream bowl. Sorry doggy...

Baby flip flops! Only $1 this last weekend at Old Navy. Score!

Those sweet girls helped make this quilt for our baby. The one on the left, her grandma did most everything.
But they each did a square!
They told me, "We made it big so he can grow into it!"
The one on the right keeps asking when Sean and I are going to buy a house in the ward so we don't leave.
Poor girl, we have to leave for grad school in a year or so...

Maria Bonita's with my sister and her boyfriend! Love hanging out with them :)

We have most everything ready for baby. Clothes and blankets are washed, changing table and crib are set up, the car has new tires and got washed inside and out on Saturday, the car seat base is going in tonight. I just need an alignment and to renew my registration, and walk until this baby pops out. Here's to hoping he comes soon! Can't wait!
