oh what do you do in the summertime?

and in the fall for that matter.... yes its another catchup post. but i didn't have internet at home for 3 months in my apartment. but more on that later...

so i ask again? what do you do in the summertime...

besides traveling? i guess i did some other things... carly was with me so most everything was with her.
We watched a lot of movies. And really, what other soda is there that can compare to Jones soda in coolness? I'll answer that for you. None.

Carly was my fhe mom. This activity was water balloon capture the flag at the park. So fun!

I was on a softball team this summer with a bunch of people from the ward. We were awesome!

I got Carly hooked on tie-dye. This was an FHE activity that I was in charge of even though I'm not FHE anything. It was fun. These pictures are also from the activity.

It may have been the last FHE of "summer" before school started. Either way it was really fun.

Carly moved home when we went for Liz's wedding. Shortly after I moved out of my apartment and into Renee and Brandon's for a month to save on rent. They were so awesome for letting me stay with them in their cute house! This picture was taken at the Candellight Festival at Thanksgiving point; at the time Third-Eye Blind was playing!

Our dog got pregnant! This was the guess of the number of puppies. Mom won.

This is my guy :)

I'm the luckiest mom in the world!

Then on to fall. I lived at Renee's for about a month and then moved into an apartment in south Provo, 2nd N and 3rd W. everyone was worried about it... i'm fine, no harm came upon me. there were yucky bugs though. one a week or so.

So what do you do in the fall? (This is when i moved into that aforementioned apartment, it was a studio and really tiny but worked well for the short time i was there).

I went here:
hung out with these girls a lot...

figured out my sewing machine and made my first project with it (thanks kelly!)

made a new best friend
was a fairy princess for halloween (only time i would be able to get away with wearing tie-dye to work EVER)
started dealing with the snow (ick) (don't kelly and glen have the best view? seriously)

came home from work to a happy message on my door - best visiting teachers ever!

went to a friend's wedding reception with these cute girls (morgan and megan)

did i mention i was at Kelly and Glen's A LOT? Sunday dinner a couple weeks before Christmas

yes, that is katie pointing at the half-eaten candy cane she hung on the tree when she didn't want to eat it anymore.

i love these girls

I got to go home for Christmas from the 21st of December to the 1st of January! it was amazing!

Sam picked me up from the airport and we went straight to the temple :)

I love my siblings.

Me and my dog
Me Jen and Tim.

One half of the table Christmas Eve.

The other half of the table Christmas Eve.

Little Tim isn't so little anymore... we shouldn't have picked on him so much.

I went to Tim's wrestling match. Only to sit there for 5 hours and not see him wrestle because they didn't have anyone in his weight category.

Oh well.

Fun with the dogs:

Rocky sitting on Carly
Carly sleeping on Rocky
Me and Blaze (dont worry, he loves me)

He has been the greatest present ever! I love him tons and he is so fun! Mischevious, but fun! Here's hoping 2011 will be great!

Liz and Joe's Wedding Weekend

What a crazy, crazy weekend. As in, we drove almost 2000 miles in less than 72 hours. Crazy.

It all started with Carly's choir concert. I dropped Carly off, picked up B, we went to the concert.

We had dinner at the greatest restaurant in the world

and headed off to Riverside! Did I mention we left at 930 pm? Never again.

We got to Bryson and Becky's at about 6am. Aunt Flo graciously let us in and we crashed on the floor for about 2 hours, ate breakfast, and got ready for the wedding.

Waiting outside the temple. Christian and Jonas couldn't get enough of the fountain. Then Christian pulled down his pants and started to pee on the bushes, we rushed him to the nearest bathroom...

They are so cute! I just love Liz, and Joe is a good friend of the family, one of Jenny's best friends. So naturally, our fam was super excited that we get to have Joe as a cousin!

We headed over to the luncheon, and then headed back to Becky and Bryson's to nap. I was so tired. B and I slept from about 5 to 7, got ready super fast and headed to the reception.

My sisters are so beautiful :)

You better believe we double dutched.

After the reception and the taking down of it, I went with Christianne to a friend's house, and got back about 1am. Those that know me know I NEVER do the whole sleep deprived thing...

Next day, the fam was going to the beach

B and I decided we wanted to go see a show right after...

Fantastic! I loved it. My friend Hayley raved about it the whole week I was with her in New York, so I was really happy to get to see it. (PS no pictures of us at the show cause we both were sleep deprived and covered in sand. I also broke my 4 year streak of not eating McDonalds. So gross.)

We got back to Bryson and Becky's after the show and crashed. Sleep is wonderful when you haven't had enough of it.

We left Sunday morning around 10, picked up Haley Christensen in Barstow, and drove back to Provo. What a weekend. But I'm so glad I got to be there for Liz's wedding!

Sam’s wedding weekend: July 30-Aug 1, 2010

(1987)

Sam and I go way back. Like to the day I was born. She is the greatest! When we hung out growing up, we always had stuff to talk about, and then come college time we were roommates! And we made many a memory together :)

A couple days after we moved into our apartment: Glenwood #17. Best apartment ever! (PS the tan is post summer #1 of lifeguarding. best job ever.)

Before church one day

We hiked the Y together.

We made up BYU-related words to the Barenaked Ladies' "If I Had A Million Dollars" together. (Boy in picture is Jacob Jones, not related.)

(Sam do you still have the slideshow? I do not...)

We went to the Relief Society Broadcasts together.

We took breaks from studying for finals together

She made me the most incredible birthday cakes ever!

We went out to dinner with roomies together

And made funny faces with roomies together

We went to football games together

We sang along to The Messiah at Christmas together

We made really dumb movies with roommates together

We dressed up as punk rockers together

We helped each other get ready

We took vacations together (Arches National Park)

She borrowed my clothes ;)

We matched on Halloween together

We went places for assignments together

We went country dancing together, and took country dance together

And we graduated together!
We ate cake together to celebrate...

and stabbed the cake to death together.

We went to wedding receptions together too, where we posed for silly pictures together.

Sam moved back to California in November of 2008 or so. I was so sad! We went from living together, to seeing each other every week-ish, to now being 800 miles apart? No way. It was not fun. But we still talked and texted. And then there was the occasional visit.

She came to visit, and we went to Kneader's early in the morning together.

We hung out at family reunion together

And spent a Sunday in the park together

And we even let other people into pictures on occasion...

In June 2009, at our Jones Family Reunion, I met Ben Allred. He and Sam had been dating for approximately 2 weeks and 5 days or so. (I just made that up. It hadn’t been too long though.) Ben survived meeting our ginormous family, and stuck around!

At the beginning of 2010, Sam and I spent a lot of lunch breaks (well, my lunch breaks, walking in the snow) on the phone talking about her and Ben and how I may need to plan a trip to CA for a wedding.

Well, in May, Sam called me with some exciting news! She was engaged! We talked for a few minutes, and then I let her go so she could call other relatives about the news. She gave me the date and I booked a flight!

I threw her a bridal shower and we had a roomie reunion :)

Fast forward to the weekend of the wedding. I had previously heard that my dad was going to come up Friday night, but somehow that message got lost in translation, and I heard wrong. So Thursday I call Sam and tell her I need a place to stay (sorry for the added stress Sam!). It ended up working out, no worries. Got into Oakland, took the BART to the Walnut Creek station and got to Uncle Wally and Aunt Vicki’s around 11pm. Ate some food, talked to cousin Ben (who I hadn’t seen in quite some time) and then went to bed.

Next morning, I woke up to the sound of little children running around, and I made some new best friends. Cousin JR and Tamera were at the house with their 6 kids, and we spent the morning eating breakfast, painting nails, playing games and watching Oliver and Company. It had been a long time since I had seen it, and I forgot about all the good lines! Especially Tito. So funny.

We got ready for the wedding… and waited. Met up with my family (minus Carly) and waited some more.

Jenny got to go to the ceremony... lucky duck.

My super cute brother

Cousin JR's kids
Natalie is such a sas, I love it!

No more waiting!

Here they are coming out of the temple.

They look so happy! I admit, I totally cried when they came out. Sam had been my BF for a long time! I tell her everything. Anyway, I wasn’t sad, they were happy tears.

We headed over to the church for the luncheon, which was delicious, and then Jen, Mom and I headed to a mall. I met up with my best friend from high school, Tyler, who lives in the Bay Area, and we hung out for a few minutes while Jen and mom shopped.

The reception was awesome! Good food, good company (I mean, seriously, Jones cousins. Does it get any better?) and after the cutting of the cake we had a wicked awesome dance party. We sent the bride and groom on their way, took down the reception and headed home. I stayed at Dan and Amy’s that night (extra bed as opposed to the floor) and then went to the airport the next morning.

So Sammy found a new best friend.

But you can have two best friends right?
