Independence Day 2019

We had a great 4th of July weekend this year! Sean told me a couple weeks prior that he requested the day after off, and it was approved, so we made plans to go to my parents! Living in Lake County, fireworks were pretty much banned. The big bummer was that King City does their firework show the day before the 4th because it is way cheaper, and I was bummed we were going to miss it! Well, Sean texted me at like 9am and said he only had 4 patients on his schedule and they were moving them to the other PA's schedule and sending him home. So all of a sudden we were leaving that day, and we were going to get to see the KC fireworks! We stopped in Napa for lunch, where Cori discovered ranch dressing, and also went to a running store to try on new running shoes. I actually found a pair I liked!

After a few more hours on the road, we stopped in Salinas at a Famous Footwear and Sean found a pair of running shoes too. And I got some new Vans because buy one get one half off! Yay!

We made it to King City, ate food, and then waited for the fireworks! We parked a few blocks from the fairground and got a great view of the show! All the kids loved it!

On the 4th, Mom, Jenny and I went grocery shopping for a few basics, and then spend the day hanging out at home! We went to a park, grilled for dinner, and played games until fireworks time! We bought a few street ones, and some sparklers, for the kids :)

On Friday, my parents both had to work, so we hung out at home all day, and then that evening Sean and I went to see Avengers: Endgame while my mom and Jenny watched the kids and put them to bed! We loved the movie!

On Saturday, we wanted to hike in The Pinnacles. On the way there, some motorcyclists flagged us down, and we could see someone lying on the side of the road. Sean pulled over and ran to help. We waited for 45 minutes probably for ambulance etc. Sean had to give a statement, so we couldn't leave until he gave that anyway. The guy ended up breaking his collarbone and that's why they called life flight. Boy were our kids excited by the helicopter! The biker group was from Vegas: they took Sean's number and told him next time we are in Vegas, they will hook us up with hotels and limos! Sounds great to me!!

Once we got to the Pinnacles, it was hot but really pretty! We hiked about half a mile in and then turned back. Of course, otter pops were mandatory after the hike!

My mom bought a cake for Mason's birthday, so we got to sing and have cake and he got to open a present! He loves his Batman watch!

On Sunday, we went to church with my parents, and then drove to Elk Grove to hang out with the Toone's for a couple hours! It was so fun; Sean started a dart gun fight!
