Anyway, we left after Sean's graduation on Friday, and ended up arriving in Oceanside at the Vongsawad's house around 12:30am. Mason decided he wanted to be wide awake for a while, so we were all up talking. (Cameron, Alex, Kelsey and McCall were all there already). We finally got Mason sleepy again, so we all went to bed.
We woke up the next morning and headed for the beach! Low and behold, I had forgotten to pack swimming diapers. Most important thing! So we stopped at Walmart really quick for those and sunscreen. We spent Saturday slack lining, chasing Mason around the sand (who loved where the water met sand, but not much more than that the first day), Sean learned to surf and tried to skin board. We had so much fun relaxing for the first time in a long time!
Also, much to my happiness, Sean told me Saturday night "I now understand why surfers hear 'the call of the wave', and will wait until they find the perfect one to ride. It was so fun. I'm so glad I learned finally!" Hashtag happy wife lol.
On Sunday, we got up and ready for church at 11. Poor Mason was so tired and not used to his surroundings yet (he used to not do so well with a bunch of new people around), so we took him home after Sacrament meeting and slept.
The Vongsawads invited a family from their ward over for dinner, and Alex cooked. We had stuffed manicotti, with two different flavors (alfredo and a red sauce), a really yummy salad, and of course ice cream for dessert. (Cameron's dad, Tum [he is from Thailand] LOVES ice cream.) Then it was off to bed! Or so we thought. Sean and I stayed up talking to Cameron until probably 1am. Cam, its a good thing we love you!
Mason was so sleepy after dinner. We were all listening to how Cameron's parents (Tum and Jamie) met, and Mason was asleep by the end of the story.
