Thankful Thursday 3/28

- Thankful that I'm 25 weeks! Not sure why that is so milestone-ish to me but it is.

- Thankful that we got Sean's classes for next fall registered for. Last semester we had to wait-list every class because we waited too long. So even though it required waking up at midnight, he got all the classes he needed from the good teachers :)

- On that note, thankful for ratemyprofessor.com. How I never used it in college I will never know.

- Thankful that my job is going well. It is so hard to have a changing schedule every week, and it makes me feel bad that I am not home to play with Blaze as much as he needs, but at least things are going well for me here.

- Thankful for the little girl in my ward who was brave enough to come ask me for help with her math homework. Not an easy thing to ask for help, and I'm glad I can be a good friend/leader to her so that she feels comfortable asking me for help :) Also what a great example of asking for help when we need it. How often do we feel embarrassed and just go without help, when help would have been so much less stressful?

- Thankful for Easter, and the opportunity to reflect on the Atonement of Christ and everything He has done for me. Also thankful it is on Sunday and then Easter candy will be off the shelves. Robins Eggs are my weakness.

Pregnancy update: 24ish weeks

How many weeks?: 25 weeks, well as of tomorrow.
Size of Baby: Apparently the size of a Rutabega, who knew? About 13 inches long, and 1.5 lbs.
Countdown:
15 weeks left. Weird!
Total weight gain/loss:
+18 lbs. Ugh
Maternity Clothes?:
Yep. Well sorta. I have a few maternity shirts that I'll throw into the rotation. As for my jeans, they are all rubber banded to stay up.
Energy Levels: Pretty good! Except for after last night after we got Sean registered for classes at midnight. That threw a wrench into today's energy.
Exercise Habits: Took last week off due to a weird schedule at work. But other than that still going at least 4 times a week. Which is good, because stupid Easter candy is on the shelves and taunting me. My doctor told me to stop doing the elliptical and start doing either cycling, stair master, or water aerobics. Heck no to the swimsuit, but I've been doing the stair master thing and the bike. Also now that it is warmer I can resume my 15 minute walks.
Sleeping?: I still wake up between 4-5:30 every morning. Some mornings it is hard to fall back asleep, others really east. Saturday I slept until 8:30 and I never knew that could feel so marvelous.
Worst Moment in the past 2 weeks:
My hips are in a constant state of ouch. I use a heating pad all day every day, sleep with a pillow between my legs, have followed doc's exercise orders, but they still hurt. Comes with the territory I guess.
Best Moment in the past 2 weeks I can now see the baby move! That is the weirdest thing, watching not only a poke here or there, but what looks like the wave going across my belly. So weird.
Miss anything?: Hardcore exercise, like running, or swimming, or intense elliptical, still. Also miss how I didn't have to eat all the time. I feel like I am constantly shoving something in my mouth. It's getting kinda old haha.
Movement: Yep. Especially after food. Sean can feel him now too which is fun.
Morning Sickness?: Every now and then at night I'll feel nauseous, or if I don't get enough sleep. But I've been really careful to make sure I have been.
Food Cravings: Marshmallow Mateys have become my new thing. I usually have a bowl every night before bed haha. I crave sweet sugary things too. Which makes me sad because I spent so long fighting off the cravings and they went away to where I usually didn't want the donut or the cookie or the cake or whatever, and that was great for maintaining my healthy food thing I was on. But now that craving is back and I hate that I let it. Oh well.
Food Aversions: Brothy soups, fish (except for canned tuna), barbeque sauce.
Showing yet?:Very much so. Everyone keeps telling me I look small for how far along I am so I guess that's a good thing
Gender Prediction: Boy! This little guy is a wiggler, which I think means I am going to have one active kid on my hand. Which is great, I love being active!
Moods: Cranky. Like all the time. Sean keeps telling me I do a good job keeping it under control. He doesn't drive with me though...
Not Looking Forward to: Losing more sleep. Ugh.
Looking Forward To: More family time in 4 weeks, getting little man's room all set up. Gotta get rid of Blaze's nasty couch first, which I am also looking forward to haha. Also looking forward to more nesting kicking in. A few weeks ago there was about a week where I went on a cleaning/dejunking spree and it was great! That went away and I would love to see it again haha.

Side note. We got a new TV (which is awesome!) because our old one was a plasma with dead pixels. Does anyone know where we can take it to get rid of it? It still works great we just didn't want to get it fixed, especially when the problem might just come back. I honestly am not even looking to make anything off of it. Does DI or anything like that accept it and will they fix it before they sell?

Tim's Endowment Trip: Las Vegas

Yes, we took my brother to Sin City to take out his endowment. Yes, we walked along the strip. At night. And yes, I walked 2 miles at 5 months pregnant, just to see the Belagio fountains. (I do not recommend this to anyone by the way.) But we had a blast hanging out as a family (sans Carly and Bryce, would you guys live closer already??) in the warm Vegas air. Seriously it was marvelous.

We left around 1 on Friday the 15th, and got to Vegas about 6:30. I was so proud of myself, I only had to stop one time to use the bathroom! Pregnant lady win! We checked into the hotel and hung out until Mom and Dad got there about an hour and a half later. We then went to Coco's for dinner. I wanted to go to the Belagio fountain show so bad, so we started walking. Apparently, though, I was the only one who wanted to go that far, or knew we were going that far. We had a tired crew after we made the mile trek. The fountain show was cool, and now it is checked off my bucket list. Then it took an hour to walk back due to walking being painful. But we made it.

Love him :)

The next morning, we woke up, and some of us got breakfast, again at Coco's. Hey, it was right next to the hotel! Sean and I split the Mega breakfast or whatever it was called: $10 for 3 eggs, 3 pancakes (which they gave me toast instead, but they gave me free OJ so I didn't complain), 3 bacon and 3 sausage? Not bad. Then we drove to the temple!

Do you know what is cool about the Vegas temple! One, it is way far off the Strip. Awesome. Two, they have an atrium where you can go and take pictures in your temple whites! So we took some pictures after the session. Can you see Tim's glowing face? Love it! It looks like he just ate a huge Thanksgiving-sized spiritual feast.

The proud parents!

Happy family! (Carly and Bryce, we miss you!)

Siblings

They are so cute. I love my sibs!

We took one picture and then my mom said, "Okay show off the bump!" So there it is. That was 23 weeks 2 days.

Highlights of the trip?
-My dad is goofy and kept us all laughing at dinner. Amongst the rest of us telling stupid silly stories. I love going out to eat with my family!
-The words "Sean, one day when you are a general authority..." came out of my dad's mouth. Not that I would be surprised, but Sean had a mini freak-out haha.
- My mom went to Coco's with me in the morning while I ordered take-out, and proceeded to explain Angry Birds Star Wars to me. She is so cute!
- Watching my brother go through the temple, obviously.
- Not a highlight? Being in a car for 6 hours. Twice in a 28 hour time period. That sucked.
But I survived.

(Thanks to my neighbors for watching Blaze! Becky, you guys are awesome!)

Thankful Thursday 3/21/13

-Thankful that I got to go to Vegas last weekend for my baby brother's endowment session! It is so fun going with people when it is their first time. They always come out looking wide-eyed and like they just saw heaven :)

-Thankful that I made the trip down there okay. Six hours in a car is a lot longer when you are pregnant. It was not fun. But hanging out with family in warm weather. It was beautiful!

-Thankful for my growing belly. It is teaching me a lot about me and how I cope. Which is not well with a growing body in case you were wondering. But now that baby boy is moving around a lot more that has helped. Some. It is hard watching your body change in a way that normally wouldn't be "society-acceptable". Especially when I worked so hard to get down to where I wanted to be. Someday I'll get there again though.

-Thankful for Sean. He is my rock and helps me out so much with my emotions and keeping them in check it's amazing. He is seriously my hero and I cannot wait to see our baby boy in his arms :)

And since I haven't posted one in forever, here is a crappy belly shot. I'm 24 weeks today.

- Oh, and thankful for the coworker yesterday that said I looked like a pencil with a grape taped on. I'll take that as a compliment! (Which it was haha.)

Life Lately

We have been pretty boring lately. Sean has been busy with school and work, and I have been busy working and growing a baby. Hard work for this first timer...

Here's a little peak into our boring lives as of late.

Can't remember where I saw this but I love it.

We have had Tim down a few times this semester. So excited for him to go on his mission soon! He reports to the MTC April 24th and is going to the Manchester, NH mission!

Blaze loves when Tim comes over, just another person to jump on!

Sean and I. This was after I spent an hour picking up dog poop in the wind last Saturday. Now that the snow is melted, Blaze finally is interested in playing fetch again. Which translates to me not wanting him to track poo into the house.

Really, though, not much else has been happening. Sean did really well on his Advanced Anatomy exam yesterday, we played catch outside on Monday for FHE and then went to Coldstone, and we watched Men in Black 3 last night. Pretty funny! The rest of my time outside of work consists of 20-30 minute workouts at the gym, and then coming home to try and clean, cook, and sleep. I have been trying really, really hard not to give in and buy every little item of baby clothes that I find. Much harder than it seems... I did give in to the two below though.

And this quilt: I'm dying over it. I want to make it so bad. If only I had the time.

We are going to Las Vegas this weekend to meet my parents, so Tim can go through the temple on Saturday! Seriously, I cannot wait for a night away, and am super excited for this big step in Tim's life! He is growing up so fast :)

Thankful Thursday 3/7/13

*Thankful that I'm more than halfway through this pregnancy. I know it is the harder half, but more than halfway is better than not.

*Thankful that I get to go to Vegas next weekend for my brother's endowment session!

*Thankful for Sean for cooking dinner all week since I've had to work late.

*Thankful for headphones that allow me to hang out in my own little world at work and tune everything else out. Rachel, can I just say once again how much I miss working with you??

*Thankful for those Robin's Eggs Easter candy. My fave. Also thankful for the self-control I've (mostly) developed when it comes to eating them. This baby doesn't like sugar. And my stomach doesn't much care for large amounts either. I guess that is something to be thankful for as well.

*Thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We had Stake Conference last weekend, and had a Korean Seventy come. He was hilarious!! But there were also a lot of really good talks given about parenting. Which is something that has been on my mind lately. A lot. I am so thankful the Lord knows each of us and our personal struggles and inspires his servants to address those topics so specifically.

Friday Funnies 3/1

I feel like this every time someone asks me this question. Four more months right??
